Contributing User's Notes:
I got this tape from a well known tape seller. Before my internet days buying tapes was
the only way I could get a decent collection. This is a 2nd gen tape, according to the
person who sold it to me all those years ago.

Presence's Notes:
This was the first appearance of the reunited Page and Plant team. Following this show, they would begin rehearsals and work for the "Unledded" project.

Review

A near excellent recording taken from the taper's section (some nearby audience "excitement" is picked up during the encores).
The recording is a bit bass heavy, but acceptable. Plant starts off a little rough during The Wanton Song,
but improves incredibly fast.
Stairway to Heaven is an excellent mono recording. It's an abbreviated version with only Page playing acoustic guitar
and Plant on vocals. A very enjoyable conclusion for this release. (Brian Ingham)

As promised...

A good audience recording with a fair amount of relatively unobtrusive crowd noise. Complete show from the first of two nights in Philadelphia. Tracks 2-7 on Disc 2 feature the Egyptian orchestra they toured with at this time.

Check out the attached sample for an idea of how this one sounds, and feel free to share this at royalorleans.com. I will upload the October 24, 1995 Philadelphia show a bit later on as well, also as promised.

Notes: An early date on the Page/Plant "No Quarter" reunion tour. Pretty standard setlist for that point in the tour, but a very solid show. As far as I know, this source has never been bootlegged or widely distributed.

No artwork; sorry. Please make some and post it in the comments!

* Oddly enough, this is my master but I don't know the equipment info. I wasn't taping regularly yet -- I borrowed a friend's Tascam deck and lined out of someone in the taper's section. The mikes were on a 10-foot stand; I have no idea what the taper's setup was. The sound is amazing -- Market Square Arena never sounded so good. Because the mikes were on a tall stand, there is virtually no close crowd noise.

This is a soundboard recording and certainly one of my favorite performances from 1998. By this point Jimmy was doing some heavy-duty guitaring -- listen to those fills in "Wanton Song" and "Whole Lotta Love." Plant's voice was past its peak (again) but still going strong.
Well, it's not a true soundboard, really. It's a professionally mixed recording.
The show was recorded by Westwood One for a radio broadcast.
