Running time: 110 minutes (either two CDRs or one 60m DAT)
Seed source (for CDR): Reel master -> EQ -> 1st gen analog tape -> CDR
Seed source (for DAT): Reel master -> EQ -> 1st gen analog tape -> DAT
The source is the usual fair/good audience recording with the guitar dominating the sound and Plant remaining in the background for better part of the concert. This may not be an ideal choice for beginners but more seasoned collectors will most likely appreciate this upgraded version. Some people may again disagree with the tape being EQ'd but the main motivation for this was to remove the excessive tape hiss that exists on the master itself. As the EQ'ing was done very carefully, I believe that the results should satisfy the majority of fans (well, at least usually so critical Tomislaw was happy with it :). The 44.1 kHz 1st>DAT that has been around for about a year now was taken from the same 1st gen tape but for this tree I arranged a new 48 kHz transfer (sound quality wise there is probably no need to upgrade from 44.1 kHz version but at least the 48 kHz transfer is now made available).Well it seems this exact bootleg has made the rounds a bit :)I got this off of STG in late May / early June, and unfortunately, I don't know who seeded this to me.So credit is due to the original seeder, and the guy before him on the tree.Obviously there's not much I can add to this hefty amount of info, other than ENJOY!

Below is the information from the text file that accompanied the shn files I acquired in trade. I have added my contributions to the conversion history. I do not know the history of the shn files prior to the trade. They came with MD5 checksums, which they passed immediately prior to my encoding them into wav (xACT) and then into flac (level 8, xACT). Torrented at Presence Server by Mustardpie.

Reel Masters
This is newly surfaced 3rd and most complete source for this show to date.
I downloaded this as a torrent and have no further lineage info except that it was ripped originally from the silvers according to the poster.
Here is a review from underground uprising http://64.17.133.178/new_releases.htm#dusseldorf

Dusseldorf 1970 is sourced from a newly surfaced audience tape that somehow slipped through the fingers of the usual suspects, Empress Valley and Tarantura. It is the first Led Zeppelin release (to my knowledge) by the Reel Masters Label. What an excellent debut it is for this label! This performance was the last of the Spring 1970 European tour before the band headed back to North America. The recording is very good for an audience source from that time period. The sound quality compares favorably to the famous March 7, 1970 show at the Casino in Switzerland. We have had partial audience releases of the latter part of the Dusseldorf 1970show available in mariginal sound quality in the past. However, the Reel Masters release is much better sounding and nearly complete. It also confirms the unique setlist that has the band opening the show with Communication Breakdown, a song typically reserved as a encore. The tape has a handful of small cuts that do not detract from the listening experience. The concert overall is above average with a good audience atmosphere. One highlight of the recording is the version of White Summer/Black Mountain Side with Page in excellent form (with some assistance from Bonzo). This title is a welcome addition to the live catalogue and will appeal to the general collector. (Scott Shallcross May 04)

=================
I'm fairly certain there's no tape-speed issue. Plant's voice is a bit lower than normal...but this is ostensibly explained by Jimmy's remarks at the end of the show: "Hey, can I just say something. You've really been a fantastic audience tonight but there's been something happening tonight which I don't know whether you know but Robert's been very ill tonight and as he came off he's just collapsed...and we've just called for a doctor and everything. We'd really like to do more. Bob is.....(muffled).... it's impossible. But thanks for being a great audience." This would seem to contradict the legend that Plant collapsted on stage. Instead, it appears that he collapsed after he was offstage. This might also explain the somewhat short setlist.
