Biography  1 - 2 - 3

So - what is left of all that military waste of time?!

I've learned to shoot with a lot of weapons (i.e. I'm prepared to run amok one fine day!), I learned to lie and to simulate and I went through several adventures, I wouldn't have experienced doing only the civil service ... (I have to admit that while BEING in the army it really sucked!!)

I bet that without the army I'd never have seen the picturesque Basque city of pilgrimage Lourdes (yes, it's also Madonna's daughter's name!). The German Army-Church granted everyone (with the "proper confession"...) A WHOLE WEEK OF SPECIAL LEAVE!! No doubt that I took advantage of that opportunity... ...and appeared in a real french newspaper!!

After the military service I began a master course of studies in Cologne: hispanistics, anglistics and geography. Later I changed the third one for ethnology - but I didn't like it much better... , because I have a cousin in Gran Canaria who's lawyer and because I didn't know anything better, I started to study law after 5 semesters and I'm still about to make my final examinations this year.

Jobs

When I went to school I did some baby-sitting for friends, I've translated letters, worked 3 months for Toys ´r´ Us, I gave lessons in mathematics and Spanish and I worked in a doctor's surgery at the check-in desk; one of the most funny jobs (at least if you tell about it on parties) was to vacuum at a gynaecologist...

...the WAITING ROOM of course!!!

Doing another strange job, I got a rental car (Ford Ka) and I had to drive through Germany in order to check the prices of Agfa-, Kodak- and Fuji-films in all possible photo-stores - it was a good way of getting to know a great part of my country.

Moreover sometimes I made some money as a performer or candidate in some TV-shows.

From the end of 1999 until 2001 I worked for Lycos-Germany as an editor for entertainment. My pseudonym was Simon Lem and I got the job because of my friend Manolo from Madrid. He worked for Lycos-Spain and came to visit me, when he had to go to Gütersloh because of a meeting (the headquarters of Bertelsmann and Lycos are in Gütersloh). He had told his boss that he had a friend in Cologne, speaking German and Spanish...-one week later I got a call and then a job - in the beginning I worked for Tripod-Spain and later for Lycos-Germany.

Now a little bit more about my interests...
