HONG KONG DREAMLAND 3

going back home once again

from September 6 to September 17 2006 in the homeland of Leslie Cheung

Dearest Leslie, I went back to your homeland again and once more we chose the former Regent Hotel - now Intercontinental Hotel - to stay. Because this is a blessed place and you know why.

Heaven knows how it was to meet you here in Central Building, while you were going for a new haircut to Ken Qi!

Here my beloved Hong Kong!

Everybody knows that among places that you liked to visit there were Soho and Lan Kwai Fong. There is a special place there, it's the Fringe Club, where 'He's a woman, she's a man' was shot.

You already know that a place that I love very much is Hollywood Road, so we paid a visit to 'your temple' again...

... and of course we went to Cat Street, where this time we found that Fai Kee shop was open. We talked with the owners, telling them that we are your fans and the nice lady showed us your picture from 'All About Leslie' photobook.

In Central, in Duddel Street, we found the old stairs were you shot 'Who will understand' MV and some scenes of 'He's a woman she's a man'.

And we also found the new Mandarin Oriental Hotel, still closed for renovation and already too much different from the one you loved.

A trip is Hong Kong is definitely not a trip in Hong Kong if we don't visit you at the Madame Tussaud's Museum on the Peak! After few days your wax statue would have been surrounded by flowers!

At the Peak, since last year we had lunch and dinner at the Cafe Deco, we went for a lunch at the Peak Lookout.

'Having a taste for quality is having a taste for life'. Finding this motto on the coffee cup... made me really think of you!

And it was thinking of you that we had two amazing experiences in two places that unfortunately you couldn't know: the MO Bar of the Landmark Mandarin Oriental...

... and at the new Steak House of the Intercontinental Hotel.

We are sure that you would have loved them very much!

At the end we finally surrended at the Sino Centre. And you've got all my money once again!!!!

In Yau Ma Tei we found the shop where the little baby in 'The Kid' saw his beloved boat toy, but it was already closed.

On the Avenue of Star again, on September 11! You are the king of Hong Kong! King of Hearts, of course!

Dear Leslie, we know that you loved the Conrad Hotel... but we can't understand why. Our afternoon tea at the Lobby was actually a bit disappointing due to the service...

In spite of the heavy rain of those days, we decided to go to Stanley market and Repulse Bay. At the Stanley market we talked about you with some nice ladies in a shop and we discovered once again that you are the most beloved in Hong Kong! In Repulse Bay, after visiting the Longevity Bridge, the beach and giving a look at 'Spices' - a restaurant you loved - we enjoyed the wonderful experience of 'The Verandah' afternoon tea. Wow, this place, where you took so many pictures for 'Stark Impressions', is soooo... leslie!!!!

We visited the Hong Kong Park with his amazing aviary. Not far from it there is the Citybank, where your Mr. Tong worked before working at the Standard Chartered Bank. A wonderful building! And, always in Central, the China Club where you went for lunch and dinner and you took many pictures also for 'All About Leslie'. Then we had an afternoon tea at Cova in Pacific Place and in our very last day we went back to Repulse Bay to see your houses! There we also gave a look at the shop where you saw Maggie Cheung at the end of 'Sunset in Paris'.
