Ms. Yumiko Oshima, a classical music singer, sang Leslie, Hibari and Callas's songs.

The concert was divided into 2 parts.The first part of the concert was to pay a tribute to Hibari (a famous Japanese female singer) and Maria Callas, and the second part was to pay a tribute to Leslie. She sang the following songs of Leslie:

According to Ms. Oshima, the 2nd part dedicated to Leslie impressed the audience most of all. She has been receiving lots of emails from them that they are eager to learn more about Leslie after watching her concert.

We would like to thank Ms. Oshima for trying to extend the great legacies of Leslie!

The following is a message from Ms. Oshima that she has sent us after the concert.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have attended my concert held last night and to those who have allowed me to promote the concert on their websites.

The concert hall with 618 seats was almost a full house. The success of the concert was made possible with your warm support.

What impressed me most was the reaction of the audience towards Leslie's part. Most audience were local citizens who are not familiar with Leslie or have known him only through watching 'Farewell my Concubine'.

When I called them today to thank them, all of them told me, "Leslie Cheung is such a charming actor. I wasn't aware that he had sung such wonderful songs. I am interested in him. I will watch his DVDs and listen to his CDs".

The concert was composed of 2 parts. The 1st part was on Hibari and Maria Callas and the 2nd part was dedicated to Leslie.

But to my surprise, 99 % of those whom I spoke to told me, "The part on Leslie Cheung was by far the best of all!".

I was concerned that they might get bored since most songs would be sang in Chinese and they were not familiar to them. I was happy to learn that my fear was needless. They told me, "Although I don't speak Chinese, I could understand the contents of the songs very well".

Looking back at the concert, it is regrettable that there were some parts that I could have performed better. But I recall with some satisfaction that I was able to sing Leslie's 'Me' as if I were spreading my wings fully, and at the same time, without overdoing it.

I was relieved that I didn't shed tears during the song.

While singing the chorus of 'Me' with all my energy, I could feel that my wings became lighter as if his fans' love towards him had turned into the wind to lift them.

I am determined to continue to practice the songs composed by Leslie hard.

Lastly, I would like to thank Leslie's fans for all the great support you have given me.
