LEGEND CONTINUES...

Very happy to be releasing a new album (EP). This Ep has 5 songs on it. Alfred, my partner, said to me this CD will be released in early March, a few weeks after Valentine's Day, and I wanted it to be extremely romantic. So... all the songs are love songs
The 1st song - the composer is Chan Yiu Gin. There was an excellent arrangement for this song and the lyrics were written by the great writer Lam Jik. You can not go wrong with Lam Jik writing a song. For me, being an actor/artiste when I first heard this song, I thought/imagined  a love triangle, a love triangle of two guys and a girl scenario. I think it is a very tragic story about love. I tried to make sure that this feeling of love lost across to the audience. Yes, I really loved the lyrics to this song and really wanted to make sure I did a good job of conveying these feelings of lost in the song.
The 2nd song - I got to work with Adrian Chan again. I really like to listen to very --- instruments (could not figure out the word he used). I like listening to the cello or the aucostic guitar. I find that they are very comforting. This is another Lam Jik lyrics. And as I said all the songs are about love. In this song... it talks about love gone away. A broken heart
song. the guy is hurt and knows that there is no way to work things out and he does not want his lover to hate him. So he feels that this love song will help her/him get over the pain of the break up.. to not hate him anymore. I think this is a very deep song. When lovers part... this song was written to help lovers overcome this..
The 3rd song - I think everyone is familiar with this song. It is an acoustic version of 'Left Right Hand'. The first time I recorded this song I told the arranger that I thought this song would be good with just a guitar solo. I wanted it to be simplier, so we remixed it with just the guitar. The inital recording we used a very hollow sound to the vocals, like what you would hear on the bad connected telephone conversation. It is not until the chorus that it is my own voice unaltered... so this version is not the same as the original. I hope everyone likes this version as much as the first.
The 4th song - this song's lyrics was written by Gary Tong. The last time we worked together was on a song called 'Blamefully beautiful' which was very well received.  It has been 3 years since then. I think this is a trully 'soulful'
song. I got to work with Chow Lai Mau... something that I had wanted to do for a long time but our schedules were not compatible til now. I think this is a very sexy song. It starts with me speaking a few words... it gives me the feeling of lovers whispering in bed, saying I always want you with me... like my pillow, but not a pillow... I want real life flesh and blood. I really love this song on the EP.
The 5th song - when I first learned to sing, I sang english songs and there were a few singers that I really enjoyed listening to like Elton John and Olivia Newton-John. Hey! Why are they both 'johns'? (he smiles). This song was originally sang by Olivia Newton-John and the titled is 'I honestly love you'.  I think many people will be familiar with this song. I have loved this romantic song since I was young.  All the other love songs on this EP were about breaking up, feeling of lost love, and being more than just a pillow... so for the last song... it is my gift to you... a genunine love song.
This is what everyone wants to hear: someone to say to you 'I honestly love you'

He translated the title in Chinese and then he said: "Would you not love to hear someone say this? I would.

Songs mentioned by Leslie are: 'Passing Dragonfly', 'You hate me like that', 'Left Right Hand', 'Pillow' and 'I honestly love you'.

many thanks to Cindy and Hong for the translation
