Leslie at 'Happy Together' pre-production press party

Voice of female interviewer: "Ohoh.. Leslie Cheung and Tony Leung seem like lovers dancing this intimate dance of the tango. Are they in love? No, this is just the requirement of their newest movie plot. Yesterday these two superstars appeared at the '... Bar' at the pre-production party and news press conference for their new movie together. And these two big men are dancing the tango because it will be a part in the movie.

Screen shows Leslie in a black suit with midnight blue shirt and black tie: very elegant! He is very comfortable and relaxed
I: "Usually dancing is with a man and woman. This time it was with two men. What do you think of that?"
L: "What do I think? Nothing much. It is just work."
Screen shows Tony Leung answering the same question: he looks a bit uncomfortable
T: "In the past these dances were men with men. The tango."
I: "Really? Have you danced with a man before?
T: "Well... no, never. These kind of dance... dancing so intimately... really gives me that heated feeling."
Wong Kar Wai's seen on screen
I: "Why are we seeing two men dancing here?"
W: "Because this will be in the movie. We will be shooting in Argentina and it will be a love story about two men."
I: "Will there be any really intimate scenes?"
W: "What do you considered intimate scenes?"
I: "Do you think these two men dancing the tango here in the bar is intimate?"
W: "Yes... very intimate."
I: "Will there be any further more intimate scenes?"
W: "We will have to wait and see."

Interviewer's voice-over: "Well, the director (Wong Kar Wai) was very secretive about the plot of the movie. But we have learned from our undercover sources that the movie will be shot in Argentina. And will the a love story about two homosexual men played by Leslie Cheung and Tony Leung.  I think there will be so much more intimate scenes in the future for our two superstars."

Leslie's seen on the screen
I: "Have you learned to dance the tango before?
L: "Yes, in the past, I have learned the tango and other social dances before."

Tony Leung's seen on screen: answering the same question
T: "I never have been a very good dancer. I never had much confidence. But Wong Kar Wai said when we go to Argentina he will hire a very talented tango dancer to teach us.
I: "You are very confident that you will be able to learn the dance? Are you sure you will be going to Argentina?
T: "Yes, definitely going to Argentina. And I hear that the life style there is very laid back. And there will not be a lot to do after work everyday! And I think I am pretty confident because I won't have much to do."

Leslie's seen on screen
I: "Who would you choose to be your female partner?"
L: "I think the most important thing is... she need to know how to dance and be pretty." He smiles.
I: "Is this dancing pretty or physically pretty."
L: "I think dancing artistically pretty is more important."

Interviewer's voice-over: "Both our male lead actors say that the tango dancing will not be a problem."

Leslie is seen on screen
L: "Many viewers have admire the scene from 'Days of  Being Wild', the dancing scene in front of the mirror, the cha cha."
I: "Do you like this scene?"
L: "Yes... I like this scene very much."

Interviewer's voice-over: "Hey, the thought of Leslie in Days doing the cha cha made me envious and I did not want to miss out. So I quickly asked Leslie to dance a few steps with me." And the screen shows the interviewer in Leslie's arms ready to dance and then the interviewer says: "Don't we look good together?"

Interviewer's voice-over: "Leslie Cheung always looks so handsome... Do you think it has anything to do with being a graceful dancer?"
L: "Actually, no.  I do not really have any beauty regime for looking young. I think what it is is that my life style is very quiet and normal. I like to eat very simple, plain foods. And I think sleep is very important."
I: "How do you get enough sleep during a production?"
L: "Well... during filming production it is a little harder but even now I have restrictions in my contract for how many hours I can and cannot work. Hey,  how often do you hear that Cheung Kwok Wing is out at the nightclubs all night? You never do.  I really think that sleep is essential."
