Game Sessions

PBB's/PBF's/PBP's don't have actual game sessions, therefore the related awards (XP, Good/Bad Luck regeneration, etc.) will be given out every 100 posts per player (average), and whenever a storyline is completed. This number may vary depending on several factors, such as how many of the posts are made by the GM...

Changes in the number of players will be dealt with after the end of a game session. For instance, if the game starts with three players and a fourth one arrives, after 300 posts the game session will close and XP will be awarded; the next session will end after a total of 700 posts.

Spending XP on Qualities (such as Increased Essence and Good Luck) and improving existing Skills can be done immediately as soon as the required total is reached (some exceptions may be applied on a case-by-case basis). Learning new Skills and Invocations can only be done between adventures.

Time between Stories

If game time elapses between one story and the next, each character will be awarded a number of Character Points (not XP), every game year. Namely, they will receive one Quality Point, three Meta Points, and one Skill Point.

Combat

Given the delays inherent in playing on a system with typical response times ranging from several minutes to a few days, the combat sequence will proceed somewhat differently from the standard tabletop one.

- Players post their intentions first, with PC's acting in posting order, although ranged actions will usually go first.

- NPC actions that happen before the players' will be published in the first post for the Turn by yours truly, while the others will be posted before the end of the Turn along with the resolution of the players actions.

- Dice for attacks are rolled when declaring intentions, and the damage die should be rolled as well, when at least one SL is achieved; once the players are informed of the results of their actions, and the NPC's reactions, they roll their defenses and post the result.

In summary, each Turn is composed of an initial GM post, introducing the Turn and detailing the NPC's actions that happen immediately, one post from each player, detailing the PC's intentions, one post from the GM, describing the results of the PC's actions and the reactions from the NPC's, and a final post from each player who still has incomplete actions (usually defenses).
