In this short document I want
to
write my experience with my printer EPSON STYLUS COLOR 580. I think that it is a good
product, it is cheap and the quality of print is good.
I used the printer for two
years
and after this period arise some problems. The first one is that the
printer
doesn't print colors but only in black and white. I didn't understand
why, I thought the colors were finished but at that time I didn't study
the problem. I was only interested in black and white print. Some time ago there was the
second problem. The printer didnt't work because there was an unknown
error. I thought that the printer was broken.
I have already begin to search a
new printer to buy, but before buy a new printer I decide to see on
internet if anyone already have had my problem with the EPSON STYLUSCOLOR 580. After have read
some document I understand that there is anHARDWARE COUNTER
thatSTOPSthe printer after a specific
number of pages printed.
There are two solution to this
problem.

The solution to the problem is
resetting the hardware counter. There are two ways to do it.
There are in commerce special
cartiages that doesn't contain ink but they are useful to reset the
hardware counter. I haven't tried them, but I have seen that they
are enough expensive, about 15€ in my country (Italy).
The other possibility is to
use a special program (running under Windows) that reset the hardware
counter. This program is free. I have tried this program and
suddenly my printer began to work again !!! I have resetted the printer
using selecting EPSON STYLUS COLOR 480 instead EPSON STYLUS COLOR 580.
If you cannot resetting try selecting other printer. After resetting
you have to power off the system. After the power on the printer should
work again. You can download the free
