Da fonti accreditate pare che Papua Nuova Guinea intenda convertire l'intera produzione in plastica, ed infatti mancano i tagli a 5 kina. Al momento, perņ, la situazione č ferma per vincoli contrattuali tra la banca e la Thomas de La Rue, che produce i biglietti di carta.
Reliable sources say that Papua New Guinea intends to convert the entire series to polymer issues, and they miss 5 kina enominations, but at this moment situation is blocked due to contractual bindings with Thomas de La Rue, actual printer of these paper denominations.
