This regimental structure is created in order to extract the maximum from the new Imperial Guard boxed set ! Some times ago, before the Epic 40.000's big rising price, I remember a green amazing boxed set called "Epic Imperial Guard". It was filled with 300 Imperial Guard miniatures ! There were a lot of guardsmen, Commissars, Beastmen, Ogryns, Rough Riders, Ratling Snipers and even Sentinels !!! What a dream !!

 Using my Optional Basing System I assembled the XXVI Valhallan Infantry Regiment from 3 boxes. Without support the whole regiment is (227 + 269 + 241) 737 points. The regimental structure showed here is very simple and, for now, don't include support and armoured personnel carrier. I'll upload the entire structure as soon as possible.
Every heavy weapons squad contains 2 autocannons and 2 loaders or 1 autocannon, 1 loader and 1 missile launcher team.
If I'll buy other cavalry models I'll replace Catachans with Rough Riders units or I'll disband this detachment and I'll use cavalry units to support the 2nd detachment ! |
The first detachment is formed entirely by Ice Warriors of Valhalla
and includes command squads and heavy weapons squads only. It requires from
6 to 15 Chimeras APC to be mechanized. Its massive firepower of 21 FP is
enough to overhelm most enemy detachments !!
The second detachment is formed entirely by Ice Warriors of Valhalla
too. It is a detachment usable in close combat, so it has 3 Psykers and
5 hero's units. I know, Imperial Guard troopers aren't the best close combat
fighters in the universe... but if they are charged they can defende themselves
(and maybe they can protect artillery detachments !!!!). This detachment
will be reinforced with Ogryns squads and, maybe, Hellounds and Demolishers'
squadrons !! And some Hydras too :-))
The third regimental detachment is my way to use Catachans Jungle Fighters.
It is a light detachment, a recon group with some infantry to support it.
It is a bit odd to see in the same battlefield Catachans and Valhallans
uniforms so I divided them !
