Global Diplomacy
ColorMap II

Colormap II is a graphic interface for playing Doug Greening's Global Diplomacy.

This version tries to overtake previous version (written by Frenoy Gaetan in 1996) limitation: number of handled areas is now not limited to 272.

This way eventual new GD maps (with more and/or different areas) could be easily handled using the same tool.

ColorMap II is a TPascal routine and works on 640x480 16 colors RGB encoded BMP bitmaps under DOS Operative System. Graphic libraries have been totally written by the author.

To install ColorMap II, simply pkunzip downloaded files (CMII-GD.ZIP for Standard GD, CMII-GD2.ZIP for GD2). They contain the CMap.exe file, and Global Diplomacy Maps (Africa, Asia, Europe, North America and South America); they must be in the same directory. Then you have just to load standard colormap data (as sent in Doug's "Data file") in the file named "to_fill" (exactly as in Standard Colormap version). Running CMap.exe will generate further 5 Maps (with the "col-" suffix) containing the colored maps.

In order to use ColorMap II with other maps, simply modify the xxx.map files, containing, for each area, number of area, x and y coordinates of the bitmap from which starting the filling procedure. It's necessary to work on a 640x480 16 colors RGB encoded BMP file (with the same palette used in the current maps).
