British My Dying Bride play very dark, sad, intense, sometimes obsessively monotonous music. Each of their albums is rather different from the others. They were among the founders of the doom metal genre and their style has frequently changed sometimes towards a more melodic approach with clean vocals, then coming back to heavier riffs and growling lyrics, then turning again in a powerful mix of the two and so on. What has been constant over the time is the very dark atmosphere which enshrouds their albums.
