She was 87 years old and her face - as
little as her figure - was become a symbol of charity and total donation
to others. She was called Poor's Mother and as well as all mothers,
Theresa was able to raise herself by choosing to stay near lowest (she
left with last) and, in this endevour, she demonstrated to the world -
believers and not - a Gospel lived day by day practising charity and
devoting herself to poorest. In other words a nun who choose to live with
other people out of a convent, armed only with the courage to live
Christ's message
among the poor in a poor city. |
As she said: "… I never thought to change the world! I found
only to be a clear water's drop in which God's love can shine. Is it few?". No,
it isn't; if we try to eminate her deeds ... we will be the happiest people in
world'! But what do we need ... we need vocation or, on the contrary, have we
design our life in Mother Theresa's way?
| Perhaps we do not have the habit of looking in to
people's eyes in order to understand their needs and feeelings! Some time
we speak without appreciating things. I make every effort to communicate my
feelings and thought to others but those around me always perceive something
else different from my intent; a little understanding goes a long way! I think
that experience teachs us a truth: positiveness with humbleness disarms even
the most difficult person, because he has your same cares: to be not swindled! |
| It's also probable that our enthusiasm will bring us to
be overbearing to those who listen near instead to help them. "Mors tua
vita mea" said someone; can be true! Because experience teaches us, "if you
are wrong you will be human but if you persevere ... you will be diabolical".
So, if I can prevent ... YOU CAN'T BE WRAPPED IN COTTON-WOOL! WHY DON'T WE
REALIZE THAT IN THIS WAY WE ESTABLISH AN UNWARRANTED MISTRUST? In the end,
if somebody has taken your cloak ...
leave him take away also your shirt because one
day he will be what he was: a fist of dust! |
| Or perhaps we react inappropriately considering that our
welfare has an absolute priority upon everybody. Here fantasy can only
round on itself: first of all I am in centre of the world; then I will aspire
to compare myself with GOD ... This is pure madness! Is this our original sin?
If it is we will have no hope. Good and evil became just God's charity in
order to help poor humans to understand the distance between them and stars.
All the universe should have to be analysed from another point of view: THE
MADNESS!
| I can prove my power just subjecting others and so I prove myself to be
alive: DO I EXIST? |
| Well, If I exist only to assert myself ... have I need of others? |
| What is of others importance if I live just for myself? |
| And finally: would it be better if I live in a desert island in order to
avoid people and to be afraid of their retaliation? This is our life
conditioning: THE FEAR. As somebody said, there are two fears:
the fear of those who are ruled and think about a beating by
the ruler and the ruler's fear who is conscious about ... people he rules
will rebel against him (as history and news show).

Let me come back to Mother Theresa who has started from a
basic reason: love nears becouse Christ live
in them. On this way we are not required to great undertaking or
extraordinary penances but we are called to have a great love and to offer
ourselves for brothers. Yes we are brothers and we should have to do
this feel ours. Simplie dayly acts made toward near to overcome distress,
misery, hunger and injustice. |
The last goal remains the social welfare. Each of us have
consciousness of own poor's condition, ignorance, too few time to spend for
others and, anyway, we should have to be more radical to offer ourself: to agree
in love for all world's people becouse this become a justice duty. Say only
thank you, ask noting, take on the Cross and go beyond without fear; there is
noting which can give death ... only to refuse this feeling! Mother
Theresa have taught so.
