KNEEBAR AFTER BREAKING
YOUR
OPPONENT'S
GUARD
1. You have broken your
opponent's guard. In this case I have used the "knee in the tailbone"
pass.
Most any type of pass will work, but this one is the easiest to
get this move to work.
2. Start to sit back
while still holding your opponent away from you. Be careful that he doesn't
catch you in an arm lock here.
You will want to start to secure his leg as
shown.
3. As you start to go over his leg ,as shown in the picture here, you will want to keep his leg in the air........
4. .......to
give yourself room to spin around his knee cap.
The trick to this is keeping
his leg from moving as you spin completely around it. Keep his leg in the air to
help you with this. You want to try and get your pelvis either on or below his
knee cap, more toward his groin. Make sure that you still have his leg trapped
with your arm, the same way as when you started.
You will
have to loosen the grip you have on his leg with your arm in order to be able to
spin. Just don't completly let go.
5. If the spin is done correctly, you should end up like this. Be sure to keep your knees together when you get to this position.
6. To finish, squeeze
your knees together , keep his leg tight to your side, and thrust your hips
forward.
This particular technique has been used many times successfully
in Pankration events.
