Chapter: Defense against Side Control
Move: Escape when he tries to get mount

This move is used when your opponent has side control on you and attempts to get mount.
Your opponent puts his knee on your stomach which is a basic entry for obtaining mount.
This picture illistrates the knee going on the stomach since it cannot be seen in the previous picture.
As his knee comes across your stomach, you will want to begin an elbow knee escape on the other side as shown. You will want to do the escape before his knee gets all the way across your stomach but not before it gets half way across.
The idea is to get a half guard before he obtains the mount.
There are many options from here... A few ideas are.... going to his back, trying to get a full guard or even rolling him toward his now trapped side.

ENJOY!

This move can be found on page D-14 in the Fighter's Notebook.
