3) The RACE on the TRACK
The race will take place at the
RUBTAN-S six lane track-and-field sports in San Giovanni Lupatoto/Verona
(Italy). The competitors of THE STARS UNDER THE STARS will run on
the three internal lanes (first, second and third). Whereas the three most external lanes (forth, fifth and
sixth) will be devoted to the "24 x 1 H Relay race". The IAU 100km World Trophy will follow
the IAAF Rules of the races on the track. The Start must follow the track
IAAF Rules (163). The Referee will decide of the opportunity to divide
competitors into two groups. The
ladies race will start at 14:00. The men race will start at 15:00
4) PARTECIPATION on INVITE
The “IAU 100km World Trophy”
- “The Stars under the Stars” is an individual race. The runners will be
invited by a common agreement between IAU and the Organizing Committee. We will invite the runners with following
best performance (last 2 years): 6h 50’ men and 8h 15’ ladies) As suggested by
IAU, we will reserve some places for each nation. We bill maximum
40 runners (25 men and 15 ladies) in the “IAU 100km World Trophy” - “The Stars under the Stars”.
Contemporaneously with the
“IAU 100km World Trophy”, we will have the “IUTA Italian Championships”.

8) TECHNICAL
MEETING - FRIDAY September 26th
The Technical Meeting will take place on FRIDAY September 26th in “PALAFESTA” by Stadium .
Before the technical meeting (in Stadium, near-by “INFO-POINT”) each
delegation leader will be given this MANUAL and a FORM, inviting questions for
the Technical Meeting. May
attend the Technical Meeting
without limits of number: team leaders, runners, interpreters. The Technical meeting shall be
conducted in Italian and English (if necessary in French).
17.30 each runner will be
given a package with technical matter and delivery of writing questions

9) ASSISTANCE -
SERVICES during the race
The “NEUTRALIZATION
AREA” (on the internal side of the track) is equipped with :

official refreshment
-
sponging area
- area for personal drink
(10
meters before the official refreshment it’s possible to take to specific table
for own personal drinks. If the competitors want to make use of this service,
they must label their drink-containers with their race-number (the labels will
be delivered in technical meeting). The runners will delivery their personal
drinks on the specific table, 30’ before the start of the race.
The
Neutralization Area will be controlled under the supervision of the Competition Officials.
The
refreshment, the sponging and the other facilitations outside the
“Neutralization Area” are forbidden.
The
refreshment and the sponging are available only after 30 minutes from the
start.
In other areas (on the external
side of the track) will be also available: toilets, shower-baths, WC, medical
service and masseurs.
10) MISCELLANEOUS
The
chip is striped just above the ankle of the right leg facing outside;
the runner must wear the chip before he/she steps to the start area. The system could under no circumstances
confuse a chip’s readings with the chip of a different runner; the chip cannot
be re-programmed and used again in a different event.
The uniforms must be in conformity with International Technical
Rules (rule n. 18, paragraph 13-14-15-16).
The change
of uniforms is possible during
the race. The numbers must be very exposed.
In the case of injures, only
official medical officers provided by the Organizing
Committee will be permitted to enter the track. The medical officer will
determine what further treatment is required. The official doctor may order to runners to quit the race.
Any type of accompany
during the race is forbidden.
The runner assistants cannot stay in the track. The assistants may go
near the runners only for refreshment, sponging, change of uniforms and for other facilitations,
provided in the “Neutralization Area”.
Sponging: the
sponges must be left within limits (40 meters)
It’s not obligatory to shift from the first line to let outrun other most fast runners. It’s forbidden to run coupled.
The pause and the rest
are permitted only in the
Organization’s Tent of the “Neutralization Area”.
The runners may leave the
track only in “Neutralization Area” (refreshment, sponging, change of
uniforms, pauses, rests and for other facilitations), in area of WC and in the Area
of medical service and masseurs. If the runners will leave the
track for other causes will be ousted from the race.
11) PRIZES
The traveling expenses will be paid in money.
The prizes will be paid by banking transfer
(in money if it will be possible)
Both are subject to taxation with a
deduction of 23,90% , for the runners
that will be won more the limit of
€uro 7.500,00 in the 2003 year (Acts n. 342/2000 and 289/2002 of Italian
State).

12) PROCEDURES
Procedures Control of drug
abuse: following the IAAF
Rules 55 to 60.
Procedures of protests : the protests shall be made to the Referee by Info
Point (on the required form), within 30 minutes of the official announcement of
the results.
13) GENERAL INFORMATION about SAN GIOVANNI LUPATOTO
Historical mentions – populations
resident in the zone of San Giovanni Lupatoto, as more in general of Verone and
of all Veneto, have origins very ancients.
First inhabitants were in fact the Euganei, of which we can find tracks
in the fraction Raldon, in it is placed one of the most vast lake-areas of
Verone’s province.
Then in the following centuries come other people like the Reti,
Etruschi, Veneti and Galli.
During Cesar’s empire the Veneti become roman citizens and so the zone
become roman town council.
First roman finds backed to
244 A.C. in a kind of plebeian necropolis.
The name – the name “San
Giovanni Lupatoto” appears for the first time in the Middle Ages in a document
in which were fixed the limits of country’s properties.
In 1553 for the first time San Giovanni Battista’s church was consider
as “ecclesia parrocchialis” subject to the chair of Verone.
On 28th August 1625 the Serenissima Repubblica Veneta gives
legal investiture to San Giovanni Lupatoto of autonomous commune, with 800
inhabitants.
In 1814 the congress of Vienna allots to the Austrian empire the Lombardy-Veneto and so also San Giovanni Lupatoto passes under the Austrian hegemony.
In 1928 with the annexation of
Lombardy-Veneto to Italy’s kingdom, San Giovanni Lupatoto became integral part
of Verone’s town hall, but only after 5 years in 1993 it achieves the
definitive autonomy.
Actual situation – the town hall of
San Giovanni Lupatoto comprises fractions of Pozzo, Camacici and Raldon.
It is only 8 km away from the centre of Verone, chief town of province,
art and historical town, one of the Italian cities most visit from tourists,
with some attractions of world-wide importance like the Gardalake, the Arena,
Romeo and Juillette’s balcony,
Erbe Square, Bra’ Square, S. Pietro Castle, Castelvecchio’s bridge, the
agricultural fair, the Vinitaly, horses fair and more others.
At only 21 km from San Giovanni Lupatoto children can enjoy themselves
attractions of Gardaland, the
amusements park among the best of the world.

Economy – The agriculture
is an important sector of village’s life. Principal cultivations are those of
wheat, maize, strawberries, apples, peaches and fodder. Industry, very
developed, works in the sector of food, tailorings-dressmakings, footwears,
engineering, textile, chemical, wood, paper and building’s material.
In particular in these last
years two industries are distinguished themselves for their initiative and
massive advertising campaigns, as Rana and Melegatti. The tertiary sector, that
of services, social activities and transports enters a certain prosperity, like
trade’s sector, influenced considerably from the opening of big downtowns.
