Jetfire Sticker Restoration Kit

Jetfire
Sticker Restoration Kit Version 2

The Jetfire Sticker Restoration Kit is new and improved! This set now includes red-colored stickers that can help to hide ugly paint wear common to Jetfire's wings, legs, arms, and chest. There are even more bonus stickers than ever before, with helpful Macross variations and additional logos for you to use where you please. Also, a quantum leaps in materials improvement have given rise to the most durable and versatile stickers yet. 5 Jumbo sheets on special white material plus 1 mini sheet for the metallics. This kit includes replacements for all of the stickers that went on Jetfire's main body, as well as his armor and gun. The results are astonishing, and will definitely make a difference if you'd like to recover several centuries of battle damage from a Jetfire. This kit turned out so well in the end, that I feel that a Jetfire restored with these replacements looks even better than if the real thing were applied!

Most of my kits come with neat extras that the original sheets didn't have, and the Jetfire kit is no exception. First off, you get replacements for all the factory applied stickers such as the metallic Autobot logo that goes on the nose (you get two!), the metallic front shoulder stickers, leg fin stickers, and "eyes". There's a few eye color variations included as well: A blue one to simulate the "Autobot blue eyes" from the TV show, and a green set, just in case you'd rather have a Jetfire with green eyes like that of a Macross VF-1S Skull Leader Veritech/Valkyrie. That's not all... By popular demand, I included some additional Macross Valkrie type stickers: Macross symbols, "U.N. SPACY" leg stickers, and black tail fin stickers with "Skull Leader" skulls (red paint wear cover stickers for tail fins substituted upon request). There are some extra rivet/bolt stickers added for good measure, extra faction symbols, and creative "anti-Decepticon" logos too... Many hours of creative decal fun await!

Above are pictures of a Jetfire restored by old version sticker replacements. The newer version is just as detailed but does a better job of hiding paint wear. Hopefully I'll be able to upload new pictures soon!

About materials, production, and price...

I put a lot of work and effort into this project... Perhaps more than any other kit to date. The sheer size and quantity of the stickers make it the most difficult to produce. The new materials I use are insanely durable and the white stickers are even waterproof. The first prototypes I made were actually made up of entirely clear material. That didn't work out so well, because the clear material only worked on flat surfaces. So I redesigned the set so that the majority of the stickers would be on normal material. It turned out that just about all of the stickers looked much better on normal material than they did with the clear material. This was especially apparent with any stickers that contained red or yellow that were on a dark surface, since the colors would not show through. Using the white material allowed for a more accurate representation of the original toy and the designer's intent, even though the originals used a type of translucent material. White material also makes it possible to decrease the appearance of ugly paint wear that many Jetfire toys suffer from. If you are a purist who would rather have them all clear/translucent like in the original, I apologize for the deviation... But this was what I felt to be the best way of making the kit look its best, while keeping the materials and production cost as low as possible.

Speaking of price, I understand that the Jetfire kits are going to be the most expensive kits I make (at least until the Fortress Maximus one is finished). I really didn't feel like releasing this kit until I got the price below $50. Thankfully I accomplished that for the most part, and improved the product quality at the same time. Still, I'm afraid the price might scare away people who might not be familiar with the quality of my products.... So I came up with a list of reasons why the price is worth it, versus the price for the original unapplied sheet (which ranges from $50-$100 or so).

1. The kit includes replacements for factory applied stickers. Even if you did spend the $50-$100 for an unapplied sheet (if you're fortunate enough to find one), you still wouldn't be able to replace the metallic Autobot logo, front shoulder stickers, leg fins, etc.

2. This kit comes with nifty extra eye variations, Macross variations, etc. Can't get those with the "real" unapplied sheet...

3. Unapplied sheets are hard to find! Not only that, but a lot of the sheets I see go for $50+ don't even have all of the stickers on them. Save yourself some time :)

4. Less guilt. No guilt about using the sheet and feeling like "there's one less unapplied Jetfire sticker sheet left in the world". If you use restoration stikers, I can always make more. Also, replaceable stickers allow you to play with your Jetfire with more confidence. You can unleash the Great War upon your Jetfire, knowing that he can get his stickers replaced again and again. The point of Transformers is to play with them and have fun. Every time I play with one with original stickers I feel like I have to be extra careful. However, my restored sticker toys have all the fun, since there are no original stickers for me to fear scratching by accident if I'm transforming em'...

5. They could possibly look better than the real thing. It's purely a matter of opinion, of course. However I have received many comments that my replacements look better than the real thing. :)

Well, enough blabbing about why it's worth getting, you're probably wondering how much it is anyway... :)
