sempre stata negata e/o ignorata dagli studiosi.
assomigli a voi uomini.
Giovanni Battista e l’angelo dell’Annunciazione.
aver ispirato quel misterioso volto.

Come è possibile

INTRODUCTION This exhibition is the follow
up to that of last year about the presence of Piona in the landscape of
Leonardo’s Last Supper and has got two aims: 1) carrying on the
historical/artistic assessment of Leonardo’s stay on Lake Como and his
interest towards the natural and human wealth of our territory; 2) being
thought-provoking about a subject – Leonardo’s spirituality – which
has been recently brought up in an unprecedented and provocative manner by
Dan Brown’s “The Da Vinci Code” and the film made after the novel. The exhibition is the
personal contribution of Professor Ernesto Solari and is based upon his
latest essay (published by Aisthesis). The display intends to present a
series of elements that look beyond the Code or the Codes, and to make
known the hidden and revealed truths that stroke Leonardo’s soul. The
great artist from Vinci knew very well how to disguise the mystic elements
in his works, amongst all The Monnalisa – a dominating theme in this
exhibition – that has become “the revealing work of the mystical
matrix of the Genius”.
THE MONNALISA: THE FACE AND THE SOULIt is 500 years that the eyes of the Monnalisa observe us and involve us in their mistery. This woman’s look has aroused universal interest towards Leonardo, the artist, man, engineer: an anomalous figure in the cultural and artistic panorama of the Renaissance. This interest towards Da Vinci has exponentially grown lately after millions people read Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code. For Brown, Leonardo is a follower of the Templars and even a Grand Master of the Priory of Sion; he knew about the Holy Grail and believed that this, instead of being a chalice, was the metaphorical or real womb of Mary Magdalen. Did Leonardo venerate the cult of the Holy Feminine? Is Monnalisa his self-portrait? We all agree that there are still numerous questions about the life and works of Leonardo. From the observation of individual paintings some details emerge, which help us to answer some these question marks. The thesis put forward here relies primarily on the interpretation of the mysterious work – the Monnalisa – considering 3 aspects: art, science and faith. These are considered to be the leading inspirational elements of this highly symbolical painting of Leonardo’s life and art. The itinerary investigates this an suggests some reflection about the identity of the Monnalisa and on her hidden truths, communicated by Da Vinci. The doubts growing out of Dan Brown’s interpretation and before than out of Prof. Solari’s Occulted Archans of 1990 in which the Monnalisa was understood from neo-platonic and kabbalistic lenses, regard the spiritual and mystical dimension of Leonardo, hitherto ignored and denied by mainstream scholarship. This exhibition aims at consolidating the perception of this metaphysical dimension through highlighting the meaning of redemption that is kabbalistically expressed by the complex compositive structure of the Monnalisa itself. This is the way to open to the new “spiritual way” of Leonardo. LEONARDO:
BETWEENART, SCIENCE AND FAITH Did
Leonardo have a spiritual and mystical dimension? Was he agnostic? Was he
connected to the Fedeli d’Amore? The
attempt to open to a type of mysticism that was very close to that of
Dante and expressed in the Divine Comedy is totally new. Besides the Last
Supper, works like the Adoration of the Kings, the Virgin of the Rocks,
Lady with the Ermine, the Musician, Saint Anne, Saint John the Baptist and
the Monnalisa, can offer reasons and meanings worth deeper analysis, as
they can strengthen the thesis of the very existence of Leonardo’s
spirituality. In this exhibition the need to find answers to the questions
put forward by the Da Vinci Code has called for an investigation of the
most symbolic work of Leonardo: the Monnalisa. Research has led to a new
interpretation of this masterpiece and a new thesis about the identity of
the portrayed woman. |
