Pulled by the hair into the national spotlight Marlene Kuntz close
1999 with a bang - a just epilogue to a year they have claimed as
their own.
It began February with the release of their third studio album "Ho
Ucciso Paranoia" (H.U.P.) which surprised the entire nation
by entering the national album charts at Nƒ 6 pulling the group
by the hair from the underground scene where they had reigned as
kings and into the national spotlight. The band spent more than
six months of the year on the road playing in every Italian province
and many of the major summer festivals. During the last part of
the tour, the concerts were recorded by a mobile studio and later
mixed with no overdubs.
"H.U.P. Live in Catharsis" is the ultimate souvenir for the
over 180,000 fans who saw the group's sonic live performances during
their 70 date soldout tour.
The band has done its uptmost to literally squeeze in to the CD
nearly all of the favourite tracks that have become anthems to Italy's
rock generation. The album features 6 tracks from the band's first
album "Catartica" (1994), 3 songs from "Il Vile" (1996)
the pleasant surprise of two songs from the EP "Come di Sdegno"
(1998) and 4 tracks are taken from the "Ho Ucciso Paranoia"
album. There are two tracks of instrumental improvisations and the
vinyl version of "H.U.P. Live in Catharsis" contains 'In
Delirio' as a bonus track.
During December to celebrate the release of this important audio
document of Italy's hardest working rock group, the band played
six concerts only, at a very reduced ticket price; a way of saying
thank you to the thousands that came to see them throughout the
year.
The band is currently taking a well earned rest before closing themselves
once again in studio for what will be their fourth studio album
with a scheduled release for the beginning of 2001.
