Coming soon:

DBA games using Esci, Revell, Hat and Italery 20 mm plastic toy soldiers.
I bought several boxes of Romans, Gauls, Ancient Britons, Early Crusaders, Saracens, Teutonic Knights, Huns.
As soon as possible I'll buy Carthaginian and Roman cavalry from Hat and I'll look to new Atlantic Egyptian and Greek new releases ! I'll try to buy some Norman/Robin Hood/ Sherwood's Sheriff Hat boxes to assemble a couple of matched DBA/DBM medieval armies (I have 2 100 hundred years war boxes from Revell too)

American War of Indipendence at skirmish level... well this project was in the pipeline for a long, long time; it will remain in the pipeline for now, but with a very low priority :-)

Vietnam war at company level (I don't have rules... can you help me ?); maybe we'll use an adapted version of Crossfire.
More info about Nam CF in the CF's page

Wellington in the Peninsula, battalions level napoleonic; I'm planning to use Shako written by Arty Conliffe or Napoleonic Principles of War by Richard Denning... next summer (2000) I'll start the painting/basing procedure.
I hope I have enough time to read carefully the two ruleset and to decide which one to use !! Another long period project with a not so high priority !!!!

World War Two - the italian war in North Africa with kind help of HAT industry who released a WWII Italian Infantry box. Not my cup of tea because the lack of support weapons (no HMGs, mortars, AT rifles... nothing sadly) but it is a drawback of the plastic cheap way !

Italian Wars of Indipendence or "il Risorgimento" a project in collaboration with an history teacher of the local university with a strong passion for our national history !
This project will be a difficult one because there are no plastic boxes about this period and I'll convert a lot of napoleonic/foreign legion and ACW soldiers to represent armies of France, Austria, Piemonte and Garibaldi's Red Shirt. I think we'll use Principles of War.

What I play...

... or take a look into my wargaming world !

Last update December, 04 1999

I started collecting ACW stuff and I have now enough 20mm plastic toy soldiers to play big ACW battles, but I painted and based only a little part of my "large" ACW collection.
I use Johnny Reb rules but sometimes we play with Fire & Fury too.

Recently, a couple of years or so, my interest shifted from ACW to World War II so I'm now playing a lot of WW2 games.

As you may have noted in the main page I'm playing a new (at least for me) World War Two company level game: Crossfire.

With the priceless help of my regular opponent, Francesco Lepore, we bought, assembled, painted and based a lot of 1/72 plastic stuff to play Crossfire!
We can now field:
Infantry (based for Crossfire)
7 german infantry companies (3 wehrmact, 1 SS, 1 Volksturm, 1 Luftwaffe, 1 Enginner),
7 US infantry companies (3 Leg GI, 2 Airborne, 1 Ranger, 1 Engineer), 1 Russian complete company;
AFV
10 Shermans, 2 M10s, 2 Priests, 2 M3s, 6 M4 Halftracks, 3 Tigers, 3 Panthers, 3 Jagdpanthers, 9 PzIVs, 3 panzerjagers, 3 Stug IIIs, 2 Hetzers, 4 Sdkfz 251, 4 Sdkfz 250, 2 Marders, 1 Wespe, several wheeled armoured car, artillery trailers and softskins plus a lot of unassembled/unpainted russian and british AFV kits!

Well, the cheap way let you field impressive armies.. :-)

The only problem I have is transport... we usually play at my house (on a 8' x 6' table in my kitchen) but we attend club's monday night games and it is very difficoult to transport AFVs and infantry companies without damaging them.
Luckily I acquired a lot of 25/28 mm hard plastic toy soldiers (GI/DAK/Wehrmacht/Tommies), so I painted and based them (2 figs on a 4 cm square base for Crossfire) and now I'm using those for club's games only (I left them to the club, so I solved the problem !)

We are now thinking to play Rapid Fire, maybe we'll convert some CF based companies (3 figs to a square base) to single base Rapid Fire system (1 man on a washer/base, 8 men are a company).
Did you play Rapid Fire without single based miniatures ? How it works ? Email me !!!
