CLASSIFICATION AND ORIGINE OF THE WATER OF TABIANO
The thermal and curative waters are defined as natural waters which, for their characteristic chemical-physical, are gifted of pharmacological and clinical effects recognised by the Ministry of health and useable in sanitary ambit for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of determined affections. The thermal waters are distinguished so for these recognised effects curative from the others natural waters like drinkable waters, gifted of organoelettic characteristics (colour, smell and flavour) and chemical (without harmful substances) and microbiological (absence of important microorganismes) such to be indicated as a soft drink, as also as dietetic waters, which apart from entry in the drinkable water for their chemical characteristics (for example law sodium) they are able to consent a more balanced nutritional policy. The thermal waters are classified in basis to their saline contents respectively more or less elevated in: Minerals Medium-minerals Oligominerals The thermal waters are as well classified in basis to the presence of ions (sodium, calcium, sulphates, magnesium, iodine, bromine etc.) or gasses (hydrogen sulphide, carbon dioxide etc.) in quantities superior to determined concentrations are divided in classes, under classes, categories and varieties. The principal types of thermal waters used in therapy are the following: Sulphides, which contain at least 1mg/l of hydrogen sulphide) used for inhalations, baths, mud, irrigations; Salted (sodium chloride) used as a soft drink; Bromo-iodine-salted (sodium chloride, bromo, iodine) used for baths, mud, inhalations, irrigations; Bicarbonates used above all as a soft drink; Arsenicals-ferruginous (arsenic, iron) used above all as a soft drink; Sulphates (sulphate) used as soft drinks and inhalations; Carbonic (carbon dioxide) used for baths; The above mentioned typologies can Coho exist also inside the same water (for example sulphide-sulphate or sulphide salted). The waters of Tabiano are classified as sulphide-sulphate-calcium-magnesium. Its principal characteristic is the richness of hydrogen sulphide which is the highest in which known in Europe. They have a meteoritic origin (rainwater) and the rarity is due to the concomitant presence in the basin of origin, situated in the hill of the Tabiano castle, to particular geological factors which the presence of permeable and impermeable rocks, presence of gypsums and anhydrides, hydrocarbons and sulphur-reducer bacteria. For the insufficiency of the original source Pergoli situated behind the present establishment in the 50’s was perforated in hill behind the well Arvé to which it was added some years ago the well Arvé 1 bis perforated few metres far from the precedent. They a deepness of about 160 metres and distribute a water very similar to the Pergoli even more mineralised and with a major Content of hydrogen sulphide (H2 of hydrogen sulphide (H of hydrogen sulphide (H2S) (150mg/l against 120 of the Pergoli).
