Profile:
Born in England in 1974. Sofi Rohena Baig.BDS. After acheving
an A-level art grade A, and 3 senior school Art medals, she then
completed a Mixed media Painting course at Central St Martin's,
London, and Black and white photography at Chelsea.
Comment
on Art:
'My faith in Islam and my Indian heritage continue to be the
true inspiration for my work and both lie at the heart of my
artistic ideas. The collision of bold colours and the fusion
of geometric designs is central to my style. Currently my work
is of an abstract nature, experimenting with various textures
alongside calligraphy and architechtural motifs. I hope to further
develop the element of 'relief' and metal leaf in my work. I
would like to think that my creativity is still in it's infancy,
and feel privileged to be invoved in a collaboration with established
artists, from such varied fields.'
