DEPTHS

Vendicari depht can excellently house forms of blue ecotourism for any age.

The rocky coast placed on the left of the swabian tower is not suitable to bathing, whereas on the right side of the coast there are wide beaches; it is not advisable to start any excursion of the dephts from this very point because it is sandy at the beginning, but it becomes slimy farther and has some zostera plants. So it is not very attractive. It is more convenient to dive from one of the wharfs placed between the old tunny-fishing net and the tower.

Here the bottom is partly sandy and partly rocky with posidonia for the most part, it is 10 meters deep, and has prospering posidonia grassland where fishes live such as sellfishes and mollusks. We suggest to move on the northern coast; infact as soon as you dive lively, fast, unmistakable for their silver livery muggini will wellcome you in the water of the Reserve. Very near the depht there will be some Diplodus vulgaris afterwards. It is a gregarious fish often scratching about behind the mullets to eat warm that the mullets dig with their barbels while looking for food. The cavities houses several species of blennies which like staying at the entrance we can recognise the Blennius g., which its caracteristicly brown coloured, the Blennius sphinx with its damask livery and the small red and yellow spots. From spring till june, under the coast, it is easy to meet the most bizarre mullet: the Sepia officinalis an animal which seems to walk on a flying carpet and which always changes its colour..................the translation will continue...............
