Baffle for the GPASC 2180 ready to be anodyzed. |
First step for RR canopy assembling: making a wooden support. |
RR canopy frame Rollover bow is honeycomb (I just added two ¼" plywood rails to the bottom sides) |
Plexiglass canopy glassed to its frame. |
I installed the RR sling seat , but when I saw Mark Langford's seat on his Web: http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford I liked it, and made one for myself too. |
Test fitting the left seat rails. |
GPASC five points engine mount freshly painted and bolted to the complete firewall (Fiberfrax and SS sheet) The engine mount need a 2" extension to avoid that exhaust tubes touch the noseleg. I wonder what will happen to the GC! |

Time to learn how the the crimping tools work. (And the soldering iron too). |
After a lot of thinking, I choose to have a removable tank: it has been floxed and glassed to the forward deck, with piano inges on the sides, and bolts fore and aft. |
RR tank location details: brackets glassed to rear side will be bolted to the traverse. |
Battery box being built with some aluminum pieces saved from the baffle discarded parts. (By the way: riveting is quite amusing, maybe in my future there is an RV!) |
Test fitting the Rand-Robinson engine cowling: soon I discovered that the oil cooler is in contact with it. My fix is to make a couple of blisters, although this will spoil the nice shape of the cowling. |
