IL SOGGETTO
Una particolare attenzione
alla tutela del passato aviatorio accomuna sicuramente la Svizzera a nazioni
come Stati Uniti e Gran Bretagna.
Similmente a quanto avviene
con i tre Junkers 52 della Ju Air, la Classic Air
mantiene amorevolmente in condizioni di volo alcuni Douglas DC-3 allo scopo
di noleggiarli per voli turistici sulle Alpi svizzere.
IL MODELLO
Come nel caso dello R4D-5W
e del DC-3 Lufthansa, per celebrare il cinquantenario
di questo velivolo, nel 1995 ho partecipato alla collezione di soggetti
realizzata dal Centro IPMS di Milano, il gruppo modellistico che frequento,
con tre modelli, realizzati in modo relativamente basico.
Anche in questo caso ho
adoperato un kit della Italeri
sostenzialmente realizzato
da scatola, ad eccezione delle decal, in parte ricavate da fogli monocromatici
ritagliati a mano, e in parte ottenute in Corel Draw e riprodotte con una
stampante laser su foglio decal trasparente.
Per la colorazione ho adoperato
un "Alluminio per Cerchioni" ed un "Bianco Ghiaccio", spray nitrosintetici,
realizzando ad aerografo il motivo azzurro e blu lungo la fusoliera. |
SUBJECT
A special care for preserving
the memories of aviation unites Switzerland to nations like the USA and
Great Britain.
Following the same philosophy
applied with the three Ju Air's Junkers 52, Classic
Air keeps in flight conditions a batch of Douglas DC-3 to use them in tourist
flights above Swiss Alps.
MODEL
As for the R4D-5W
and the Lufthansa DC-3, in order to celebrate
the fiftieth anniversary of this airplane
in 1995, I gave my contribution
to the collection made by the IPMS chapter in Milan, Italy, by assembling
three relatively basic kits.
Once again I used an Italeri
kit out-of-the-box, but I cut part of the markings from stock decals while
Classic Air logo and other lettering was drawn in Corel Draw and laser
printed on transparent decal film.
The paintjob is made with
"Wheel Spokes Aluminium" and "Ice White" automotive spray lacquers, airbrushing
the azure and blue striping along fuselage sides. |
