School
Year 2003/2004
<<<back
In January 2003 our schools started an
European project into Socrates area thanks to European Union’s financial
help.
Project title is “Tales for children, a
magic world” and our partners are a Maltese and a German schools.
The Maltese school is in Attard, a little
and quiet village in the middle of the isle.
The German school is in Wuerzburg, a
historical town in
Bavaria
, nearby
Frankfurt
.
The project lasts three years and it is
about literature for children, analysed
and studied by children: from magic elements of fairy tales to
German, Italian and Maltese writers for children.
Italian aim is to spread Rodari’s work in
Europe
: Gianni Rodari was born in Omegna, our town.
Main aims of the project are to develop
greater awareness of different situations, languages and cultures in our
children and to strengthen European and national identity in them.
Moreover, the project would like to growth
children’s motivation and pride for their own work, shown to Maltese and
German contemporaries.
Then we must remember educational aims:
greater trust in oneself, high opinion of oneself and best cooperation
with same positive rules and habits.
At last, topics are studied in depth and
children can develop some skills like computer practice, acting and
artcraft.
English is project language so our children
can improve their oral and written English.
Teachers can get a lot of experience and
improve their job: they can exchange educational experiences, ideas,
opinions and materials with European collegues. They can be more
enthusiastic at work.
This first year has been very interesting:
pupils and teachers have taken part in the project with profit. Results
have been enthusiastic and products have been well planned and well made.
Now we would like to show you our work. We
hope our results can make you to start the wonderful adventure of acting
in
Europe
for
Europe
