Samos is an island of the North Aegean Region. Its size is 475 sq and has 36.000 permanent inhabitants. Samos is not a mass tourism destination thus it keeps its unique, natural beauty and the honesty of its people. Has a prehistory of more than 3.000 years and the most famous samians are the mathematician Pythagoras and the astronomer Aristarchos. The island is very green with olive trees, wine yards, pine trees and was a holiday destination already from the ancient times. The favorite island of Antonio and Cleopatra, Samos still remains the place of elite people. Far away from the crowdie backpackers, it is a favorite destination of Greeks and Europeans that visit the island not only for its fantastic beaches but also for the endless paths on the mountains that attract quality environmental tourism.
The strategic place of the island with its daily connections by ship or by airplane, the short distance from Asia Minor (800m) and from the other islands like Patmos and Ikaria, provides to the visitors the alternative visit to other destinations as well.
