The images shown here have been taken from the frescos
preserved in the Castle of Trausnitz (60 km from Münich) where the
play was represented in 1568. They were painted by Alessandro Scalzi called
"Paduano" (man from Padua) and, having been inspired by the Commedia
dell'Arte, with every probability they represent some of the scenes from
the cortegiana Innamorata.
