RODDY RADIATION 'Skabilly Rebel - The Anthology' 

The history of Roddy Byers a.k.a. Roddy Radiation does neither start nor end with The Specials, but this was the first time Roddy's talent became obvious and known to a large crowd of people. It was his guitar slinging' and singing in one of the most famous Ska bands of all times (touring e.g. with The Clash or label mates Madness and The Selecter literally through every corner of the world), that put him on the map of musical history.It was only known to an intimate circle, that Roddy - whilst still playing with The Specials at the peak of the 2Tone-madness - never stopped fronting his own bands and developing his very own and unique style, which he himself dubbed 'Skabilly'.Always being a pioneer in combining different blends of music, that no one really matched together before, as e.g. Ska, Punk, Rocksteady and Reggae at that time, Roddy became one of the first and best doing this. After The Specials broke up, Roddy was seeking for new inspiration and doing so, he turned back to his roots: Rock'n'Roll. Mr. Byers himself describes his music very decent as Skabilly, but whatever the genre, that’s simply good music.
