& C. is a leader in the production of hot runners,
nozzles and heating elements for injection molding.
Since years EMP has been using modern mold process
simulation and forecasting systems in order to offer
a better quality to its customers. |
During a period of collaboration, we have been called
to work together with the EMP team in the filling phase
of mold cavities and to eveluate the efficiency of the
injection system.
The software used was MoldFlow
Plastics Advisers, characterized by good quality
results and usability, at a minor cost for the
simulation activities. In this way we were able
to forecast the pressure drops within the cavity
and in the feeding circuits, the flow front temperature,
the welding lines, and we could estimate the effect
of shear rate and shear stress on the quality
of the products. |

The systematic analysis of the
injection process permitted us to individualize
the number and best position of the injection
points, evaluating and optimizing at the same
time the runners.
All this meant offering good quality mold and
component projects at a minimum cost to the final
customer. |
