GENERAL INFORMATIONS

The one thing that still really amazes and enchants the visitor to Cuba, apart from its natural beauty, genuine atmosphere and lively traditions, is the immediate sensation of harmony, simplicity and happiness. Cuban society is changing rapidly, partly as a result of the economic problems largely caused by the American embargo.{short description of image} The embargo is in fact forcing much of this peaceful, hospitable population to adopt an unnatural pace of change. This is why we recommend you visit Cuba as soon as possible, before it's too late,{short description of image} and island succumbs to the process of "globalization" which has engulfed the rest of the world. All the accommodation we offer is well kept and air-conditioned. Our members can provide splendid colonial villas, country houses, flats or single rooms, and the friendship of the host family is guaranteed. Their traditional hospitality will mean you can really get to know their wonderful country and begin to understand the complexities of the Cuban revolution, and the changes that are currently taking place.

WHAT TO DO & WHAT TO SEE

You'll be able to enjoy all your favourite holiday pastimes; relaxing on pure white sands, DIVING among the coral reefs, and all the sports activities you could wish for.{short description of image} The country's great SPORTING AND CULTURAL EVENTS are unforgettable experiences, not least for the fact that you might see Fidel Castro in the flesh. A leisurely wander through the streets of HAVANA to admire its colonial, neoclassical and Art Nouveau architecture, and enjoy that famous atmosphere of decadence, reveals some fabulous museums, where it's easy to make friends with the locals and get to know this lively and rebellious people.{short description of image} Eating well on a budget is no problem here, in the PALADAR, tiny family-run restaurants which serve lobster, chicken with beans and other local specialities, with lashings of salsa music, the heartbeat of Cuba.
After an evening stroll along the promenade, venture into one of the discos, and you'll always find someone there ready to give you a few lessons in salsa and merenghe. The lone traveller will find it difficult to resist the whispered sweet nothings and promises of eternal love: nights out in Cuba are always happy and carefree.
{short description of image}Apart from its many gorgeous beaches and the architecture of its capital, the island has many other beauty spots: the colonial city of TRINIDAD, which feels like going a hundred years back in time, the hilly area of VINALES, the GUAMA park, home to many crocodiles, the city of CIENFUEGOS, and many many more.
To get around cheaply, you can hire a car, or simply take a taxi, but whatever your holiday needs, we will be able to advise you via e-mail on an ideal route.

WHEATHER

The fabulous climate of Cuba could be described as an ETERNAL SUMMER. Even in the rainy months (June and November), the rainstorms, if intense, tend to be brief, so aren't a big problem. Temperatures are 27°C-30°C from August to October, and 22°C-25°C during the rest of the year.

USEFUL INFORMATIONS

For the latest information on flight prices, we'll be in touch via e-mail. To get into Cuba you need your passport and an entry visa, which can be acquired cheaply in your home town. No vaccinations are necessary, but some vitamin supplements should help you deal with heat-related fatigue, and it's best to take something to treat the classic holiday stomach upsets.
The language of Cuba is SPANISH. The CURRENCY usually accepted everywhere is the American dollar, which can also be converted into local pesos. American credit cards (such as American Express) are not accepted, but there are no problems with VISA.
