DICTIONARY
This page is dedicated to the
types of cloth. For the cosplay exist many types of cloth and in this
page you can find the explanation of some of these.
Cotton: The cotton is
the most used cloth in the world, it is resistent, has various color
and its cost in very low.
Exits many type of
cotton, (Poplin, Cotton-Satin ecc.)
The cotton - Satin (that you see in the photo) is very shining and is
perferct for dresses like Yuna in alternative to the silk.
Also Poplin is very good for Yuna's dress, but his consistence is more
light.
Silk: The Silk is one
of the most important cloth in the World.
This cloth is produced by silk worm and of this cloth exists two types:
first: pure silk, this cloth is very luminous and is very valuable, its
cost is very high.
second: silk of second choice (Bavella), this is made with the threads
cut by the silk worm.
the costume of Yuna (Obi, mesh and sleeves) is made of Silk.
Satin and silk are very similar.
In silk exist also the damask, in some brocades or in velvet.
Various types of satin exist: cotton-satin (see the explaination
before) and silk-satin.
(the wedding dress of Yuna is in satin).
Jeans: this is another
cloth made of cotton, it is very strong and in various color.
Wool: is a of the most
important clothes, it is used in many ways.
You can find wool already in cloth or as a thread in wool-ball (in this
form is ideals for the Rikku'scarf.).
Burlap or Cloth: burlap
is the simplest cloth of the world, its armour is very simple, it has
only two plots.
Various types of burlap exist: linen (very high quality), canvas,
cotton, juta(is very low).
Alkantara: this is
a cloth with a light hairs on the surface,
it exist in synthetic cloth or in leather.
(This cloth is indicated for the shoes of Lenne).
Leather: the leather
is found both synthetic and in animal skin.
Our advice is to use the synthetic.
Synthetic: Various
types of synthetic exist: from those looking like plastic to those that
are similar to cotton and other clothes.
In the cosplay this types of clothes are very used.
Lycra: this is a
synthetic cloth.it is very resistant, it has various colors and it is
very elastic.
Is particulary used for the production of swimsuits.
(It could be used for the swimsuit of Rikku - FFX-2 and the upper part
in that of FFX).
Crepes Chiffon: it
is a cloth very light and semi-transparent, it is used for veils and
ruffles,
it is suitable for Lenne's costume.
Cadis: This cloth is
one of the most expensive,
but its beauty is comparable to its cost.
It is very luminous and its colors are very brilliant. It exist in
silk, wool or in crepes.
(It is particoularly suitable for Julia Heartilly's costume).
Pile: Soft and warm,
this cloth doesn't come undone.
It can be used in different ways.
Lace: a decorative
cloth which is made by weaving thin thread in delicate patterns with
holes in them.
(It could be used for the skirt of Lenne).
Lenci: Like Pile also
this cloth doesn't come undone, but it less soft. It comes in a wide
range of colors.
Metal: In this
category there are all the clothes that have metal inside.
Both soft and hard metal clothes exist (with pieces of metal glued upon
it like Paine's dress).
