Celestia Feature requests: Group 5 FR26 Multiview schemes |
Pre-defined multiview schemes. Actually it is possible to split the current views freely. Should be useful to have pre-defined schemes.
Description: In some 3D software like 3D modelers it is possible to have multiple views on the current scene.
In Celestia it is possible to split the views freely without any limitations except the CPU's capabilities.
Some pre-defined schemes should be useful also for the implementation of multi URL's.
An example of pre define schemes should are displayed in the following figure:
The size of these views in predefined schemes should be fixed. If the user wants the current free mode should be restored. Probably in a near future will be possible to run a simple LUA script to perform those actions.
Moreover actually for each view in the scheme, is created a different observer. An identifier number for each observer should be displayed.
The implementation of the schemes should be made considering one view as predominant or main and the others as secondary. In the schemes showed in the previous figure one view (the largest) should be considered the main one (the predominant). When the user clicks on a secondary view, automatically the secondary switches its position and becomes the main. So the informations that actually are displayed in the corners of the screen should displayed in the corners of the main view. The secondary views should report only a number and a title. If the FR24 will be implemented the title should contain also the observer camera position: front, rear, top, left etc.
The title should report: [Observer ID] [Observer Camera] [Current mode] [Current object]
Some examples of the view titles: - 1 Front Following Earth - 2 Rear Following Moon - 3 Front Tracking Io - 4 Left Following Cassini - 4 Top Following Cassini
