Non Linear Thermal
Analysis
In the hypothesis of non stationary
heat transfer phenomenon, such as the study of
the thermic field transient influenced by the
temporal modification of the contour conditions,
a finite element research needs to be faced by
using codes which consent the gathering of the
heat transfer dynamic effects.
Such situations are typical of motors
in the heating phase, or in the phase of ignition
and extinction of a cooling system. Even electronic
circuits present in certain thermic transient
situations need to be considered by the designer
to be able to avoid an excessive heating of the
components. Another sector which takes advantage
of the same approach is the calculation evaluation
of the cooling process of the pouring
of metal inside a mold, in order to guarantee
the correct production of the piece.
There are other situations in which the thermic
exchange coupled between fluids
and solids, or between fluids
of different circuits, as for example in a heat
exchanger, can be cought in their complexity only
through a non linear approach.
